Do you run a breeding herd and have an interest in trialing NLIS ear tags?

Integrity Systems Company is seeking northern cattle producers willing to take part in on-farm device trials as part of the NLIS approval process.

Before receiving NLIS approval, device manufacturers must first pass assessment, testing and auditing of their devices. The devices then undergo field trials over a three-year period.

The cost of the trial devices is met by the manufacturer and any data or information about your property and livestock is kept confidential.

Expressions of interest are sought from producers who meet the following criteria:

  • Operating a northern beef enterprise (i.e. Bos indicus breeds or crosses).
  • Have a breeding herd of 400-600 head, none of which are identified by an existing NLIS device.
  • Cattle can be retained on-farm for the three-year duration of the trial.
  • Ability to muster and present livestock for assessments at 6, 12, 24 and 36 month intervals after the devices are applied.
  • Willing to provide feedback about the trial device and updates on any livestock that are sold, leave the property, etc.

Please note: Device manufacturers and ISC-approved independent supervisors will require access to your property and livestock for the duration of the trial, including use of yards and other on-farm areas or equipment.
