States and territories have different biosecurity requirements. State and territory government agencies often require movement documents, such as animal health declarations, for movement of livestock into their jurisdiction. They may also require testing and/or certification. On-farm Biosecurity Management Plans have been a requirement of the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program since 2017, and many producers already have one in place. From 1 September 2026, it became mandatory to upload that plan, or create one, during the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program accreditation or reaccreditation process. To reduce the risk to biosecurity it is best to contact the companies and express your concerns about biosecurity and any measures they can undertake to reduce the risks.
