Searching for PICs in eNVD

Searching for PICs in eNVD

The updated PIC Search feature helps you quickly find the Property Identification Code (PIC) you need. When you add a PIC into eNVD, it automatically shares the consignment details with the PIC owner and they are able to in their eNVD account once you submit it.

eNVD connects directly with the National PIC Register, which brings together all State and Territory PIC data into one central location. While each jurisdiction has its own rules and formats for PIC information, we’ve aimed to make the search as consistent and user-friendly as possible.

How to use the PIC Search

When entering the movement details within eNVD, simply select the PIC type, State and enter either the Postcode or Town/Suburb. Click “Apply & Search” to show the top 10 PICs based on the information you provide. To refine the search from here, add the individual or business name details you are looking for.

Because PIC rules vary across states and territories, here are some helpful tips to get the best results:

Choose your state

New South Wales (NSW)

These states don’t have a designated feedlot status.

Feedlots are listed under producers, so when searching for a feedlot, select Producer as the PIC type.

South Australia (SA)

These states don’t have a designated feedlot status.

Feedlots are listed under producers, so when searching for a feedlot, select Producer as the PIC type.

Northern Territory (NT)

Due to privacy regulations, business names cannot be displayed in PIC search results. If you don’t know the PIC, contact the destination directly to confirm their PIC and business or individual name.

Agents are not issued PICs in the Northern Territory. To allow an agent to see the consignment, add them as a Viewer in eNVD.

Queensland (QLD)

Agents are not issued PICs in Queensland. To allow an agent to see the consignment, add them as a Viewer in eNVD.

Victoria (VIC)

Due to privacy regulations, some business names for producers will not be displayed in the PIC search results. If you don’t know the PIC, contact the destination directly to confirm their PIC and business or individual name.

General tips

Searching by postcode gives you the broadest results. PICs can share the same postcode but be registered under different towns or suburbs, so this can help you find the correct PIC more easily.

If you can’t locate the PIC using their individual or business name, check the surrounding postcodes or contact them directly to get their PIC number.
