NLIS tips & tricks - March 2026

Receive important updates

Following recent catastrophic weather events in Northern Australia and Victoria, it was critical for ISC to be able to reach affected producers.

Producers whose contact details were not up to date or whose accounts were not linked, would have struggled to access vital information about their accounts and the extension periods ISC had applied to provide them with some breathing room during the recovery period.

Linking your accounts

If you have purchased a new property recently, please make sure you have linked the new property to your National Livestock Identification System (NLIS), Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) or myMLA accounts.

Likewise, if you have sold a property, please make sure you unlink it in your NLIS, LPA or myMLA accounts.

Property Identification Code

Every property is issued with a Property Identification Code (PIC) and, in most jurisdictions, the PIC remains with the property even if the property is sold to a new owner.

If you have sold your property, you must remove its PIC from your NLIS, LPA and eNVD accounts or you will continue to receive notifications relating to this PIC.

If you have purchased a new property, please ensure you add the PIC to your NLIS, LPA and eNVD systems to ensure you receive relevant and necessary notifications relating to the property.

More information

Visit the ISC website for information about registering, updating and searching for PICs.
