
Rectifying incorrect transfers
If you have recorded an NLIS transfer and need to make a subsequent amendment, use the ‘transfer correction’ function by going to your NLIS account home page and following these steps:
- Select the appropriate species from the top drop-down menu.
- From the second drop-down menu, choose the ‘transfer correction’ function under the ‘notify the database’ sub-heading and then click ‘go’.
- Enter the corresponding NLIS Upload ID for the transfer you are correcting.
- You will then be presented with three options:
- Edit one or more transfers in an upload
- Select the corresponding records that need to be edited and then click the ‘edit selected items’ button in the bottom right-hand corner.
- You will then be able to modify the movement date, PIC number and/or NVD serial number details.
- Remove one or more transfers in an upload
- Select the corresponding records that need to be deleted and then click the ‘continue’ button in the bottom right-hand corner.
- This option is typically used when you have included an incorrect NLIS device number.
- Remove all the transfers in an upload
- Review the summary screen and then click the ‘send’ button in the bottom right-hand corner.
- This will completely delete the original transfer that was recorded.

QUICK TIP: If you login to your NLIS account and have the grey dashboard appear, click on your profile in the top right-hand corner and select the ‘switch to original’ option to return to the current blue dashboard

Please note:
- you will only be able to complete a transfer correction if you recorded the original transfer yourself using your NLIS account and no subsequent movements have been recorded afterwards
- if you have forgotten to include some NLIS device numbers in your original transfer, you should simply record a new transfer containing only those NLIS device numbers
- for any mob-based movements, select the appropriate mob-based species and choose the ‘mob-based movement correction’ option
- ensure you have the corresponding NLIS Upload ID for the movement you are correcting.
