June CEO Message

June CEO Message

29 June 2025
-Min Read

ISC is currently reviewing the role of the National Vendor Declaration (NVD) and we're asking the entire red meat supply chain to complete a new survey that will tell us how the NVD is currently being used and help us identify potential improvements.

The survey should only take ten minutes to complete, but your input will help inform the way NVDs are shaped in the future.

ISC and the MLA Strategic Plan

MLA released its new Strategic Plan earlier this week, outlining its ambitions for a more profitable, productive, and sustainable industry.

ISC has a significant role to play in delivering this strategy, and I hope you’ll take the time to read this month’s article which provides a brief insight into how we plan to support value creation across the red meat supply chain over the next five years.

eNVD web-based system improvements

The eNVD web-based system also continues to be refined and improved. A new feature now allows the livestock sender to add device (tag) numbers to eNVDs when consigning livestock. The receiver can then check the consignment and use the eNVD to record the movement directly into the NLIS. Visit our website to learn more about completing NLIS transfers via the eNVD web-based system.

Work is currently underway on additional eNVD web-based system enhancements, and I look forward to sharing some of these new features with you as they are released over coming months.

ISC roadshows

Our team will continue to take concepts for the uplifted NLIS on the road over the coming month with a visit to the Wagga Wagga MeatUp Forum on 15 July. If you’re in the area, I’d encourage you to come along and meet the team to learn more about where the Uplifted NLIS is heading and ask any questions you might have about our systems or programs.

Biosecurity Tasmania workshops

George Basha, ISC Operations Analyst and NLIS expert, will be attending a series of NLIS workshops being run by Biosecurity Tasmania between 28 and 31 July 2025.

This annual workshop series aims to enhance NLIS proficiency and this year’s focus is helping Tasmanian stakeholders meet their regulatory obligations under the state’s new Biosecurity (Livestock Traceability) Regulations 2024

For more information on these workshops or to learn more about future ISC roadshow dates, visit our events page. There are plenty of other events happening in July, so please come along and meet the team if there’s one happening near you.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this edition of Integrity Matters.

Kind regards

Jo Quigley
