Wingham rewards quality

Two Wingham Beef Exports suppliers with an outstanding level of Livestock Data Link (LDL) compliance have been awarded at this year’s Wingham Beef Week.

During Wingham Beef Exports’ supplier awards, Sue Francis from Onwards Murray Greys was awarded Manning Valley Naturally 2019 – Highest LDL Supplier Overall Compliance to Wingham Grid and Patrick Freeman, based at Wauchope, was awarded Wingham Blue 2019 – Highest LDL Supplier Overall Compliance to Wingham Grid.

To be eligible for either award, suppliers were required to consign cattle to Wingham Beef Exports between 12 March 2019 and 02 May 2019.  Manning Valley Natural is one of the premium grids on offer through Wingham Beef Exports and is an HGP free, YG (young beef) grass program. The Wingham Blue grid is inclusive of all animal types and feed pathways.

Awards were also presented for the Wingham Beef Week carcase competitions.

Wingham Beef Exports General Manager Grant Coleman said the awards are about rewarding excellence and thanking Wingham’s direct consignment suppliers for their support and loyalty.

“The awards give us a chance to promote their fantastic work and to ensure we have great quality cattle going through the plant,” Mr Coleman said.

“They’re an important part of making sure we continue to produce the most awarded grass-fed beef in the country through our Manning Valley Naturally brand and a top quality, everyday product in our Wingham Blue brand.”

Wingham Beef Exports is a subsidiary of NH Foods Australia (NHA).

NHA Group Livestock Manager Stephen Moy congratulated Ms Francis and Mr Freeman on the quality of their cattle.

“Sue and the Onwards Murray Grey team have been a long-term supplier of Wingham Beef Exports and continually produce excellent quality grass-fed cattle,” Mr Moy said.

“Patrick trades a number of steers annually, finishing them on a top-quality supplementary feed. Patrick continually supplies cattle that meet the grid requirements for Wingham Blue.”
