The National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) is Australia's system for the identification and traceability of cattle, sheep and goats. NLIS reflects Australia's commitment to biosecurity and food safety and provides us with a competitive advantage in a global market.

Livestock producers need to ensure that the NLIS database for their property identification code is up-to-date. Records of livestock transfers and movements can also be part of an on-farm audit.

This session will help you to stand by what you sell by:

  • Reintroducing the NLIS database, what producers need to use it for and how to access it.
  • Demonstrating how to undertake two of the key actions when using the database - a livestock transfer from one PIC to another and a PIC reconciliation.

The ISC team will be online to follow-up answers to your questions and supply resources to help you use the NLIS database.

Join this webinar, held in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment and Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, for tips and hints on how to use the NLIS database on-farm.
